Descent is the fifth story in Paty Jager's series: A Shandra Higheagle Mystery!
Who doesn't like a mystery with a touch of romance? I haven't read her previous
stories, but understood easily that the heroine, Shandra and the hero, Ryan,
have a complex relationship and work on it as time goes by.
Let's mention that Shandra is a potter who lives in the mountains where she finds the clay for her art. She is a survivor of abuse from a bad relationship with a man named Carl, her art professor. She moved on with her life, she's smart and independent but lacks self-esteem! When his dead body is found on a ski slope near her home, she becomes the main suspect. Of course, we know she is innocent but she'll need help! Who comes to her rescue again, but dashing detective Ryan, a man who adores her and is willing to wait for her. However, she is not ready to give love a second chance. She doesn't want to get hurt again. Will he be able to prove her innocence without revealing Shandra's secret past? Will they find the real killer?
