When Hattie is faced with an unexpected choice, will she bury her heart on the battlefield forever or find a way to love again?

Far from home and with no family left, Briley Donaghue answers an advertisement from a rancher seeking a wife in Montana Territory. She arrives in Crooked Creek to find an empty cabin, a letter from her fiancé, and too many unanswered questions. Alone and uncertain, Briley forges a new life in an unfamiliar land.

“Clara of Crooked Creek”
No longer willing to allow society’s opinion to influence her life, Clara Stowe sought a change, and what better place than the frontier. With her young daughter by her side, she embarks on an unexpected undertaking to the Montana Territory. With grit and determination, they arrive in Crooked Creek to shape the life Clara had always dreamed of and honor the memory of the one they lost.

A little background on Crooked Creek . . .

“Emma of Crooked Creek” was originally written for a short story contest, but while writing it, I realized that I had the makings of a new series that I very much wanted to write. Set in post-Civil War Montana Territory, the characters, time period, and setting came alive, and I'm looking forward to adding to this collection over time.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these glimpses into the lives of the characters who live in this unique Montana town. There will be at least two full-length novels, one of which will be a Christmas novel, and another an exciting battle-and-romance-filled western adventure.

All of the delightful characters from this collection will return in the next books with Clara as one of the main characters in the first novel.

I invite you to follow along at my journal ( or blog (you're already here) where I post updates about my books and future releases.
