A Reader's Opinion: ROMANCING MR. BRIDGERTON by Julia Quinn

The Book
Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend's brother for . . . well, it feels like forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret . . . and fears she doesn't know him at all.

Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of everyone's preoccupation with the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, who can't seem to publish an edition without mentioning him in the first paragraph. But when Colin returns to London from a trip aboard he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same—especially Penelope Featherington! The girl haunting his dreams.

But when he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide . . . is she his biggest threat—or his promise of a happy ending?

A Reader's Opinion
I've read this particular Bridgerton book twice now and found it just as delightful the second time around.  Colin Bridgerton is charming, playful, and such a sweetheart. Penelope is the girl not everyone may notice at a party, but when they do, realize they'd missed out on making a great friend. Quinn writes witty dialogue and enjoyable characters who offer up steady banter, plenty of smiles, and even a few "ahhh" moments. I highly recommend the Bridgerton series for anyone who enjoys a light read and plenty of romance. You won't be disappointed!

Series Note: It should be mentioned that I've read up through On the Way to the Wedding. My last "favorite" in this series was When He Was Wicked.

2nd Note: I picked up the latest edition which contains the 2nd epilogue. I hadn't read this before, nor did I finish it, but I must say the story could have done without it. The original ending is perfect and needed nothing more . . . in this reader's opinion.
