Western Roundup Giveaway Hop: Three Books! Three Winners!

Second Annual Western Roundup Giveaway Hop

July 19th - 31st 2013

We're back, and we're ready to give the readers a chance to win a variety of western-genre books! This will be an easy entry--just enter via the form. Winners will be randomly chosen on August 1st.

Gallagher's Pride & Gallagher's Hope (2 book combo)

I wasn't not going to give you a chance to win a couple of my books, and with the third book being released next month, I thought it appropriate.

Full book excerpts are available on the 'My Books' page of this blog.

Along the Way Home by Christi Corbett
Kate Davis is intrigued when her father reveals his dream of starting a horse ranch in Oregon Territory. Settlers out west value a strong woman, and though she manages the financials of her father's mercantile her competence earns her ridicule, not respect, from Virginia's elite society.

Jake Fitzpatrick, an experienced trail guide, wants land out west to raise cattle and crops. But dreams require money and he's eating dandelion greens for dinner. So when a wealthy businessman offers double wages to guide his family across the Oregon Trail, Jake accepts with one stipulation--he is in complete control.

Departure day finds Kate clinging to her possessions as Jake demands she abandon all he deems frivolous, including her deceased mother's heirlooms. Jake stands firm, refusing to let the whims of a headstrong woman jeopardize the wages he so desperately needs--even a beautiful one with fiery green eyes and a temper to match.

Trail life is a battle of wills between them until tragedy strikes, leaving Jake with an honor-bound promise to protect her from harm and Kate with a monumental choice--go back to everything she's ever known or toward everything she's ever wanted?

Sidewinders: The Butchers of Bear Creek by William W. Johnstone
Knocking On Trouble's Door
There's nothing like family. At least that's what people say. But when Bo and Scratch come home to Bear Creek for a long-overdue visit, Bo's family kindly invites him to turn around and leave. His old friends and neighbors turn tail and run when they see him. Next thing he knows, he's in jail for the brutal murder of two saloon girls in neighboring Cottonwood. Unfortunately, the real killer looks astonishingly like Bo. Now, with his buddy in jail, Scratch needs to ride to the rescue, if he can escape the clutches of the beautiful assistant to a traveling snake oil salesman. With Bear Creek in an uproar, a man with Bo Creel's face and body is about to kill again. And the worst is still hovering on the horizon: a family secret that could turn Bo's hair bone-white.

  2. I'm excited, too, about this western blog hop. I joined the one last year and had a ball. Met so many new western romance authors (historical and contemporary) and new bloggers. I was in hog heaven! I grew up on a ranch in a small town in SoCal and my first romance novels were of western cowboys and cowgirls. My Dad subscribed to the cheap pulp fiction magazine called Ranch Romance. :-) He used to read that when he's up late nights irrigating our fields. Anyway, glad I found out about your blog and website, M.K. Thanks for the posts today! jdh2690@gmail.com

    1. Welcome Janice! We all had a lot of fun last year too, which is why I decided it had to keep going. :) I also grew up in SoCal, but I was a beach child. It wasn't until we moved to Colorado when I was younger that I began to truly appreciate the mountain and ranch life. Good luck in the hop!

  3. ANY of these books would be a delight to have; but I'm entering for the Gallagher stories. Reading the synopsis of these 2 makes me want to read them as soon as I can. Scotland / New Orleans to Montana -- definitely some change of life-style and culture here.

    1. Thanks Donna! It was fun bringing characters to Montana from other places--definitely different for them, but the women are tough and adapt quite nicely. :) You'll see more Scotland/Montana combos in the future--can't help but writing about my two favorite places. Good luck!

    2. One of my wishes is that someday I get to visit Scotland. And altho I have friends who are from Montana, one my brother-in-law would one day like to live there, I've never been there either. SO books are my gateway to far-away places. :)
