Midsummer's Eve Giveaway Hop!

June 20th-26th
The 2nd Annual Midsummer's Eve Giveaway Hop!
Thanks to Uniquely Moi Books for co-hosting.

Midsummer's Eve is a holiday celebrating the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, the summer solstice (June 21). The celebration predates Christianity and is likely related to ancient fertility practices and ceremonies performed to ensure a successful harvest. The holiday was later rededicated to honour St. John the Baptist in Christian times. Although the meaning of the holiday has changed, some pagan customs still persist, such as the bonfires, which originally were believed to ward off evil spirits, and the focus on nature, which harkens back to when plants and water were thought to have magical healing powers on Midsummer’s Eve. Where we may not be lighting bonfires or warding off evil spirits, it certainly is a good time for a new book! Now, the truth is I've been so busy that I completely forgot about this giveaway, but that's to your benefit because rather than offering up books I've combed through searches to find, the winners will have a chance to pick out their own!

Here's how it works! You may enter one of two ways:

1. Enter using the Rafflecopter giveaway below, or;
2. Leave a blog post comment. This option is available for those who don't use Twitter or Facebook.

Two Winners, Two Prizes!
The first randomly drawn winner will receive the $10 Amazon Gift Card. The second randomly drawn winner will receive a $5 Kindle book of their choice. Good luck!

  1. I've never really done anything for "Midsummer's Eve" before. I didn't even know it was a thing until now, lol. I know there are many pagan traditions focused around seasons so I guess I just assumed there was one but never looked into it. Sounds like fun though. If it weren't for the 90+ weather that's expected for the next few days, I think I'd go out and start a bonfire tonight. Instead I'll settle for reading a book and keeping cool in my lake. That's a good way to celebrate the coming of summer, I think :)
